Cavalier County Health District facilitates a coalition for area residents who are interested in working toward the goal of decreased preventable death and disability due to tobacco use. The Cavalier County Tobacco Coalition was formed in January 2003. Meetings have been held three times a year. The topics for the meetings have mainly been educational for the members on tobacco issues. Check out our newsletters for more information at:

New members of all ages are always welcome. Contact Cavalier County Health District Tobacco Coordinator at (701) 256-2402 or by email for information on becoming a member of the Cavalier County Tobacco Coalition.
A statewide coalition also exists. Breathe ND is a coalition of organizations concerned with the effects of secondhand tobacco smoke on our health and our lives. Breathing secondhand smoke exposes you to numerous toxic compounds that can cause a wide range of life-threatening health problems. Breathe ND is working to educate North Dakotans on the dangers of secondhand smoke, and to tell you what you can do to ensure clean, healthy air for all our residents. For more information visit the Breathe ND website.
