BISMARCK, ND - Learning is doing, and preregistered Bismarck-Mandan area families will be able to participate in hands-on interactive activities on Saturday, Aug. 26, while learning from experts about child and family health and well-being – all while enjoying the new North Dakota Gateway to Science exhibits at no cost.
Activities, speakers, food and refreshments, games and more are planned between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. CDT for registered participants at the science center at 1600 Canary Ave. in Bismarck. Limited event tickets will be available to local families on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pre-Registration Details
To participate, families must pre-register and will be able to select a two-hour time slot to attend and request tickets. Online preregistration begins today, Aug. 4, at Bismarck State College’s (BSC) website, bismarckstate.edu/gatewaytohealth. Families unable to register online can contact (701) 224-5600, 711 TTY.
Organized by the North Dakota Youth Health Advisory Board, North Dakota Health and Human Services, BSC and Gateway to Science, the event supports healthy families and healthy communities – key HHS priorities.
Miss North Dakota Sydney Helgeson will be attending and speaking about how young people can be involved in their communities through volunteering.
Parents, grandparents, guardians and others will also be able to learn about topics relevant to children’s health and success, including behavioral health, financial health and physical health with a focus on nutrition and exercise and more. Interactive booths, including Parents Lead, will share information attendees can use to support strong, stable North Dakota families.
