BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Dakota Health and Human Services (HHS) Primary Care Office is now accepting applications for the North Dakota Health Service Corps from qualified health care professionals and health care sites.
The ND Health Service Corps comprises four individual, statewide loan repayment programs that provide financial support to select health care professionals working in underserved communities. These programs assist providers in the disciplines of dentistry, medicine, pharmacy and behavioral health.
These competitive programs require two to five years of service commitment from the provider, depending on the program. The provider and the health care site where the provider will be practicing must both complete an application. All eligible providers and health care sites are encouraged to apply. The application deadline is March 31, 2023. Recipients will be notified in June 2023.
“There is an ongoing shortage of providers in North Dakota and the loan repayment program opportunities offered through the ND Health Service Corps are valuable incentive tools to recruit and retain health care providers for our rural and underserved communities, said HHS PCO Manager, Kalee Werner. “Through these programs, HHS is increasing access to health care for North Dakotans, aligning with the State of North Dakota’s mission of becoming the healthiest state in the nation.”
