Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee to hold listening session Aug. 22 in Bismarck to discuss strategies to combat opioid misuse

BISMARCK, ND - North Dakota’s Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee will hold a listening session on Tuesday, Aug. 22, 4:30-6:30 p.m. CDT, to gather ideas on how to make a positive impact on the state’s system of prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery services targeting opioid misuse and addiction.

The listening session will be held at the Bismarck Public Library, 515 Fifth St., Meeting Room A. The Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee consists of six voting members and a nonvoting chairperson with equal representation from state and local governments. The committee will advise the state on the distribution of funds received under settlement agreements between opioid manufacturers and the state. The committee will also make recommendations on how the money should be used to help combat opioid misuse.
